I tell people all the time that the keys to maximum muscle building naturally are TUT, moderately heavy weight, high intensity training, a proper diet, and rest. TUT (time under tension) is very important, but most people try and speed rep and get their set over as fast as possible. That’s a huge mistake. They also like to keep the incline at a low level, which is basically the same as flat. Set your egos aside and lower the weight, put the bench high, and control the weight every rep. You will see far better gains this way.
