FAQs

How long do sessions last?

Sessions last an hour, this includes a warm up and down to prevent injuries.

What should I wear?

Depending on the weather we recommend wearing light breathable clothing that you can layer up and down. We always perform warm up exercises to get the muscles warm so you’ll soon start to strip layers. In wet and colder conditions we recommend wearing waterproof gloves. This brand of gloves is excellent, however there are plenty of cheaper gloves such as these.

What shall I bring?

Bring a bottle of water and a warm jacket that you can put on after exercising. We also recommend bringing a foldable mat that you can use for floor exercises. We do bring mats but some members prefer to use their own. This mat would be ideal.

Should I eat before exercising?

As a general rule we would not advise eating a meal under 1 hour before exercise. A small snack such as a banana is best before hand. It’s not a good idea to be hungry entering into exercise especially if your goal is weight loss.

How quickly should I eat after exercising?

We recommend eating a balanced protein base meal within 30 minutes of finishing exercise, this will maximise recovery and nutrient replacement.

How quickly will I lose weight?

This is very individual but most people will drop a dress/clothes size in 6 weeks. Obviously this is dependant on other lifestyle factors such as diet and stress. It is common for weight not to change significantly but your body will change shape.

How many classes should I attend per week?

If the classes are the only exercise you are doing we recommend coming to 2 classes per week.

Can I exercise when I'm pregnant?

It depends on what trimester you are in. Personal Training would be a safer environment whereby we could monitor you. Please contact us to discuss this further.

If I am ill or on holiday can I postpone my membership?

If you are seriously ill, injured or fall pregnant and can provide a doctors letter we will use our discretion to cancel your membership. Unfortunately we do not freeze or postpone memberships for reasons of illness or holiday.

Do I need to be fit to do your classes?

It helps, but many people join us because they are not fit. Our classes are open to all ages and fitness levels. We modify exercises to suit different levels.
